Lisa and Daren's Wedding at The Star, Alfriston

I always enjoy photographing Christmas weddings. There is something nice and cosy about being snuggled up inside with all the decorations and The Star in Alfriston where Lisa and Daren had their wedding does cosy very well indeed. In fact the whole village has a nice snuggly feel to it.
Lisa got ready at The Star with the help of her three bridesmaids and Daren arrived a little before the ceremony in a huge vintage American Oldsmobile, which brought all the locals out for a good look and very impressive it was too. The wedding took place in the Heritage Room upstairs, which although it's quite a tight space to work in, is my favourite of the two options. We then had some really quick group photographs with everyone outside The Star (really quick - it was chilly) before the three of us headed over to The Tye for some shots by the church and on the bridge over the River Cuckmere.
Everyone then relaxed into the wedding breakfast and the room was mainly lit by candle light, which looked particularly nice. We had a small number of group photographs to take before the evening started and I took the opportunity to capture a few relaxed shots of Lisa and Daren around The Star. The evening reception went straight into the cutting of the cake followed by the first dance and people didn't hang abut before getting onto the dance floor, in fact it was packed pretty much all night. We had one last set of images to get which was Lisa and Daren by the Christmas Tree in the square at night, very festive!
The Star is quite rightly one of the most popular venues in Sussex and if you would like information about having your wedding there you can contact the Events Team via the website: http://www.thestaralfriston.co.uk
